Starting therapy should feel clear, supported, and manageable.

If you are beginning therapy for the first time, returning after a break, or helping a family member find care, this page outlines what to expect at Denver Mental Health Collective. Our goal is to make the next step feel less overwhelming.

What happens after you reach out?

  • Share what kind of support you are looking for.
  • We help match you with a therapist whose training fits your needs.
  • You receive intake details before your first appointment.
  • Your first session focuses on history, goals, questions, and fit.
Getting started

A simple path into care.

Beginning therapy can bring up mixed feelings. You may feel ready for change and still have questions about the process, cost, privacy, scheduling, or whether a therapist will be the right fit. We want the first step to feel grounded and clear.

Before your first appointment

After scheduling, you will receive the information needed to complete intake paperwork and prepare for your first session. Your therapist will use the first appointment to learn more about what is bringing you in, understand your goals, and begin building a collaborative plan for care.
