Professional Bio
Hello! My name is Amanda and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate here at Denver Mental Health Collective. I help individuals experiencing burnout feel less overwhelmed and better manage the roles and goals in their lives.
I use a variety of therapeutic approaches in my work with clients including psychodynamic, solution-focused, and client-centered. I work hard to create a space which feels safe, nonjudgmental, and fun for my clients.
My ideal clients are feeling heightened emotions, navigating roles and relationships, dealing with unplanned circumstances, and/or are curious about starting their mental health journey.

Why I do this work
From a young age, I knew I would be working in a field with the opportunity to connect with others on a deeper, more emotional level. I have a passion for communication and connection.
I value the catharsis and fulfillment experienced through engaging in thought-provoking discussion with another human. No words can express my appreciation of being alongside my clients during the good, the not-so-good, and the bad times.
Best part of my job
The best part of my job is the reciprocity of learning and growth I experience from my clients. No matter the teacher or student, I believe we can all learn from each other.
Beyond the therapy room
Self-care is a huge priority in my life, so in my free time I participate in a variety of creative activities including crochet, painting, collage, jewelry-making, sewing, writing, and drawing.
My partner and I love to cook and bake new recipes at least once a week. Most weekends I can be found binge-watching horror/thriller movies, listening to a wide range of music, and above all… taking naps.
